Biography.
Theodora Songhai is a multi-disciplinary artist and theologian whose practice and works span performance, visual art (collage and analogue photography) and academia.
Born in Brazzaville, Congo, to parents of Ghanaian-Nigerian heritage, Theodora lived in four different African countries by the age of 13, thanks to her father’s work in the UN. She moved to the UK at age 13 and has lived and worked in different parts of England. A proud Londoner, she’s also a nomad and a sojourner, currently residing in Somerset, England.
Her interests lie at the intersection of the body, identity (race and gender), ritual, migration and pilgrimage, meaning-making, and autobiography.
Theodora Songhai is not just an artist and theologian but a passionate explorer of the human experience. Her artistic practice is a testament to her dedication and curiosity.
